The Download February 28th, 2013
Every week seems to bring more and more downloadable games. We're practically overloaded with new iPhone games, new indies, and new digital releases each week. Never fear! The Download is here to help you figure out what to spend all that fake money on. Microsoft Points? I know those aren't on the gold standard. Here's this week's list:
Nintendo eShop
The 3DS sequel to my favorite Castlevania game since Aria of Sorrow on the Game Boy Advance is available in demo form this week, so be sure to whip a few demons in 3D!

Many of the console releases above are also available on Steam. It's just a matter of deciding if you want to add to that massive library that you'll never touch. AVP: Evolution
As far as action games go, AVP: Evolution is better than it has any right to be. It's an iOS/Android game, its developers Angry Mob Games have also release a game called Muffin Knight, and holy crap! Did you see that Predator decapitate that guy? AVP: Evolution lets you play as both an Alien and a Predator, even going so far as to include a role-playing style progressions system. That means you'll unlock new gear, parts, and power as you gain experience. You'll go from face-hugger to full-blown Xenomorph in no time flat.
The graphics aren't bad for mobile platforms, but the controls still leave something to be desired. You might want a bit more from the game for $4.99, but it'll still be money better spent that some other Aliens game on the market. My favorite part is the crisp, fast animations. The game looks great in action, and sometimes that's all it takes to sell an iPhone game.
